Back in December 2007 project friend Lamda did some spectacular pieces of art for us to help us visualise the coming pyramid.  Click on the picture below to see Lamda's vision

The Ankh

The pyramid's crowning Ankh was made by local boat builders who work with aluminium

The Ankh is the ancient Egyptian symbol of life and the pyramid is a celebration of life.  It's height of 2.222m is 1/11th the height of the pyramid.  The number 11 can be considered to mean "New Beginnings" in that it is the number one accentuated by repetition.  The 2s gives us love and connection - 2 is the universal number of pairing; Male & Female, Yin & Yang... so from here is derived connection and ultimately then love, which is the connecting force of the universe.  Life, New Beginnings and Love... the personal development course that the pyramid provides aims to awaken a new beginning in people's lives and this to be ignited from a place of love

The width of the Ankh is also special.  At 1.373m it's width is exactly 0.618 of the height meaning that it is in the Golden Ratio that Fibonacci discovered.  Fibonacci discovered the sequence 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89... where the next number is the last 2 numbers added together starting with 1 & 1.  The magic is that if you divide the last 2 numbers e.g. 55/89 your answer always approaches the universal constant 0.618.  This number is so special as a ratio that it is found in nature from the spiralling arms of a galaxy to the distances between features of the human body.  Where you find beauty you find Phi

 

The Ankh on the pyramid is an encoded numerological message that reads...

"Rejuvenate your beautiful life here, Love Pyramid x.xxx"

 

At the end of Phase 1 the Ankh will be positioned on top of the pyramid.  It is designed that like a big transmitter it will broadcast out to the Spiritual world calling in support and offering unification.  It is also designed that like a big antenna it will resonate with the power of ancient Egypt calling on the Gods to help this project succeed and to guide its missions such that it can help save our planet at this critical juncture that Mankind faces

 

The Four Shamanic Elements

On the very apex of the pyramid there will be four triangular pieces of glass about 3m high each.  Remember that the pyramid is cardinally aligned which means each piece of glass will face a different direction; East, South, West, North

Painted onto the glass in a transparent paint will be a depiction of the four shamanic elements: Air, Water, Fire, Earth.   In order to generate some great ideas we have linked to the Iquitos School of Arts.  Pictured below, myself, Nancy Dantes (Head of the school) and David Hewson

 

The Incan Trilogy

In the next 1/3rd of the 8.147m high Meditation Room we will have the shrine to Amazonian Shamanism.  The three worlds; the under world guarded by the serpent, the middle world guarded by the puma and the heavens guarded by the condor will be depicted by artist David Hewson

David has been living in Iquitos for over a year now.  To see his work in Iquitos click on his self-portrait below

 

Amongst David's talents is his expertise with gold leafing as the piece below demonstrates.  It will cost around $50,000 to have David gold leaf designs around the entire room.  It is hoped that this shrine to Amazonian Shamanism alone will attract visitors to the pyramid from all around the world

 

 

"Casa de Julio Stairwell"

Shrine to Celtic Shamanism

The central stairwell  that goes thru level 6 (Casa de Julio) is closed off meaning that it is not possible to see the rooms in this level as one climbs the stairs - this is because it is the private level housing my family, the main pyramid office and an executive meeting room

Rather than leaving the Marupa walls bare I decided that this area would be devoted to Celtic Shamanism.  This will include a depiction of Stonehenge in England and an array of pagan symbolism

 

I would also like to include something of the Arthurian legend in this piece.  Arthur fought to protect Avalon, the priestesses mystical world, from the invading Christianity.  This was not the Christianity that Jesus had taught but rather a power crazy, religious adaptation hell bent on burning the last of the shaman and demonising their faith.  When Arthur died he was buried in Glastonbury and his soul went to Avalon.  The legend says that when Britain needs him most he will return from Avalon

 

It has not been decided as yet who will be commissioned to do this work altho it is hoped that it will be a person, probably born close to Britain, who is passionate about Celtic shamanism

Curtains

The curtains across the theatre's stage will be embroidered with the traditional Shipibo pattern demonstrated by the Shipibo ladies below:-

The pattern tells the story of the Ayahuasca ceremony

 

Art in rooms

Amazonian art is flourishing in Loreto with many artists making a living from making paintings that tourists can buy.  Amongst the work there are some very good pieces often influenced by Ayahuasca.  Each pyramid room will contain at least one piece of genuine unique work from such artists.  In addition it is an objective that each room will contain posters of the work of Pablo Amaringo and of Alex Grey.  Alex Grey's work is very spiritual whilst Pablo's work is influenced directly from his experiences of Ayahuasca

Egyptian

The pyramid will contain murals of Egyptian artwork, perhaps in the dance room.  It has not yet been decided exactly what

 

Other Shamanic Artwork

Other influences from North American Red Indian and from Aborigine shamanic art will be sought.  The pyramid is a unification of shamanism from across the world
