Phase 3
Phase
3 Objective:
“Post
Business Set-up"
“Phase 3 Objectives Discussed" ·
To
channel money from the business at improving the Restaurant and Casa de Julio
hotel
"Phase
3 Task Summary"
"Phase 3 Task Details" 3.1 Water Capture, Benches and Plants ·
Rain
water is captured off of the leaves
and directed into lots of 0.5m diametered containers that are 0.367m high. These
tanks tuck nicely under the external benches. (2 per bench). The corners of the
outside of the pyramid can also take 6 each ·
A
shower uses 4 litres/minute so if 1 person has two 5 minute showers per day and
uses a further 10 litres on cleaning teeth and flushing the toilet, then for 50
people this is 2,500 litres per day. Adding a further 500 litres for restaurant
and cleaning use gives a pyramid usage of 3000 litres/day
·
Note
that water is not captured on the platform level and each tank when full weighs
72kg. The total pyramid proposed water capture system will carry 26 tons lasting
8.3 days. However for Phase 3 it is only 7.4 tons ·
The
additional 4 tanks are 0.7m diameter x 0.7m high and are suspended above the
toilets of the meditation room ·
By
using space below the floor-boards it would be possible to make the tanks 30cm
higher at 66.7cm high. This would increase the whole collection by 20.3 tons and
is preferable because the water would last 15 days ·
The
tanks around the pyramid will all be connected by a lower pipe. This will ensure
that they all contain the same level of water. These lower connectors will have
a closable valve. At all times one connection will be shut and this will be the
point where water anticlockwise of the point is considered cleaner than the
water clockwise. A continuous cleaning procedure will ensure that the tanks are
kept bacteria free without the use of dangerous chemicals. ·
Overflow
pipes will carry excess water down to the tanks on the floor below and
ultimately the river. The tanks will feed the showers and toilets of the floor
below ·
Water
collected off the outside floorboards will be feed into the water collection as
well. Every morning the room cleaners will sweep and scrub the floor boards.
During this process the runoff will be redirected at the sewage ·
Masaranduba
plant boxes will have an uneven base so that water collects in one corner and
drains off to the sewage. Each floor will have a different colour theme running
through the plants. Interesting medicinal plants and cooking herbs from the
jungle will be grown ·
The
benches will be 44.44cm high and allow a couple to sit in both directions either
looking inward at the pyramid or outward towards the horizon 3.2
Lower
Deck Juice Bar ·
On
specified days a large area at river level will be segregated from the workers
and will be available to the public. This is to promote the pyramid and gives
poorer families an excuse to come to the pyramid without having to spend any
money ·
The
area will be an area for families of Iquitos to relax (Children accompanied by
adults). Read a book in the fresh air and quietness of this taxicab free place.
All just a free 10 minute boat ride from the city centre! ·
The
area will have loungers, shade and swimming may be permitted if currents are not
strong and water depth is favourable ·
If
this concept is popular then a juice bar will be added here. Otherwise the juice
bar will be integrated into the kitchen · This activity will eventually evolve towards the use of the swimming pool inside of the pyramid
3.3
Septic
Tank ·
The
sewage collection in the North-East corner of the pyramid will be improved 3.4
Bathrooms ·
Two
mini bathrooms added in the Meditation Room taking the pressure of the guests
two bathrooms in Casa de Julio 3.5
Meditation
Room Apex ·
The
temporary apex that is 2.7m high on the Meditation Room will be removed at this
point. It will be replaced with an aluminium and glass structure. This will be
decorated (possibly in stained glass) with the four elements being represented
on each of the four sides |
